The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) is reporting that real gross domestic product (GDP) increased 3.5% in the third quarter of 2018, according to the “second” estimate released by the BEA. The growth rate was unrevised from the “advance” estimate released in October. In the second quarter, real GDP increased 4.2%.
Corporate profits increased 3.4% at a quarterly rate in the third quarter of 2018 after increasing 3% in the second quarter of the year.
