The boards of Central Wisconsin Cooperative in Stratford and Harmony Country Cooperative in Colby have voted to merge the agricultural cooperatives, becoming just the latest in a string of co-op mergers in Wisconsin.
In a letter to members, the co-ops' boards said the merger will result in improved savings, expanded services and continued equity payouts.
Central Wisconsin Cooperative also has agreed to sell its John Deere dealership to Riesterer & Schnell, which owns 12 other locations in the state.
