Ålö, a supplier in the agricultural machinery industry, is investing $6 million in a new Greenville County operation that will create 44 new jobs over the next five years, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.
“Following an extensive evaluation, Ålö selected Greenville County, S.C. as the ideal location for our company to further strengthen service to our customers and reinforce our commitment to the North American market. We look forward to becoming part of the thriving business community in Greenville County,” Niklas Astrom, Ålö Group CEO, said in a news release.
Ålö’s Greenville County operation will include the distribution of farming equipment manufactured by the company at multiple global locations. Distribution will be mainly for the U.S. market. Operations will also include steel fabrication of made-to-order mounting kits for the agricultural equipment, as well as assembly of products and hydraulic kits. The fabrication itself will incorporate plasma cutting, machining, forming and welding, the release said.
New operations are projected to come online in October. The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to the project.
