Farm equipment dealer consolidations are continuing at a rapid pace. We’ve received news over the last few weeks about a number of dealers on the move.

George Russell a consultant with Currie Management says big dealers see the benefits of consolidation and thus look for opportunities, and other big dealers see the benefits too. As a result, the process of negotiation and integration is much shorter.

Russell says, “Big dealers are preparing for a downturn and many aggressive ones realize there are opportunities. I expect there will be more in the near future.”

He says this consolidation is clearly a trend and Deere consolidations are predominant because they have the most big dealers. But, other brands like Case IH and AGCO will follow. 

Noteboom Implement has acquired Northwest Equipment’s three stores in Spencer, Lake Park and Sibley, Iowa. Noteboom is a John Deere dealership with stores in Corsica, Parkston, Chamberlain and Platte, South Dakota. 

Also in Iowa, Van Wall Equipment announced the addition of four more John Deere dealer locations through the acquisition of Southard Implement and Drost Equipment. The new locations include Tama, Marshalltown and Grinnell from the Southard acquisition and Oskaloosa from Drost.

Barker Implement and A&M Green Power have joined forces to form AgiVision and will serve John Deere customers in 3 states through 13 locations in southwest and south central Iowa.

Bancroft Implement, a Case IH dealer based in Spencer Iowa, has added three more locations with the purchase of West Bend International’s three stores. This brings Bancroft Implement’s total locations to 9. 

In Illinois, Martin Sullivan Inc. purchased Kleine Equipment Inc.’s six stores in west central Illinois. Martin Sullivan now operates 13 locations in Illinois.

In Canada, Ontario’s Delta Power Equipment has acquired Case IH dealer Jacobs Farm Equipment in Essex. The new location will continue to operate under the Jacobs name. Delta Power Equipment has Case IH dealerships in Exeter, Forest and Seaforth Ontario and New Holland stores in Essex and Watford.
