An Irish manufacturer of agricultural equipment that entered the U.S. market 2 years ago has appointed another 4 dealers with numerous outlets as it seeks to consolidate its position in the south and southeast.
At its factory in the northwest of Ireland, Major Equipment builds vacuum tankers for farm and industrial applications, and grass and other vegetation control mowers for ground care and agricultural uses such as pasture management.
The business has distribution depots in Great Britain and The Netherlands to serve key European markets, with annual revenues of around $20 million also generated in markets further afield, such as Australia and New Zealand, and most recently, North America.
“In the United States, the main product we sell is our Cyclone Multi Crop Shredder, a heavy-duty rotary cutter for handling crop residue management with reduced power consumption that out-performs equivalent-sized flail shredders in every way,” says Eoin Murphy, export sales manager.
“Through our dealers in the southern and south-eastern states, it’s typically focused on cotton stalk shredding but the machines also work successfully on grass, corn, sorghum and barley so we’re keen to expand our network into other areas of the United States.”
Newly appointed to the company’s existing outlets are Don Medlin Co., Caruthersville, Mo.; and branches of J&B Tractor Co., Waynesboro, Ga.; Quality Equipment LLC, Fuquay-Varina, NN.C.; and Robstown Hardware Co., Robstown, Texas.
They join numerous Wade Inc. branches across the Mississippi Delta and Goldman Equipment, covering northern and central Louisiana, and Chapman Marketing in Florida.
Martin Walsh, Major’s U.S. sales manager, said, “These businesses are deep-rooted in their communities and have established reputations for creating long-lasting value for their customers, which stands for everything we do. I’m delighted to be working with them and showing how our products can help their customers.”
Murphy adds, “The growth and expansion we’ve achieved in the past year reflect the tremendous demand for our products in the United States. The new major-usa.com website and marketing support we provide to new dealers demonstrate our strong commitment to this market and indicate the investments we’re prepared to make to continue this trajectory of growth.”
