U.S. Ethanol Production Capacity Grew 3% in 2019; Proposed Legislation Aims to Increase Usage

Since 2012, consumption of fuel ethanol has plateaued in the U.S. and the COVID-19 pandemic added to ethanol producers’ woe, and with corn being the major feedstock in ethanol production, farmers watched the price of corn fall even farther earlier this year.
