NMC and AGCO Corporation are pleased to announce that effective September 14, 2010, Manzer Equipment in Osmond Nebraska and Osceola Implement in Osceola Nebraska have been appointed as the first two Challenger Alliance dealers in Nebraska. As a result of these changes, NMC will begin the process of closing the Wayne facility due to its proximity to the new Challenger Alliance Dealer. In addition, NMC will repurpose the Seward facility and it will become a Lexion specific location and will no longer be a Challenger or AGCO sales and service outlet. We will continue to support our Challenger and AGCO customers through their existing field service teams through the transition.
"At NMC, we are leaders in what we do and our top priority is ensuring our customers receive the best service in the industry," said Rich Swanson, NMC's President and Chief Executive Officer. "With that leadership position comes the responsibility to constantly evaluate if there are better ways to offer leading products and services to our loyal customers."
Swanson added, "After an extensive review of NMC's current dealership business model and its strengths and weaknesses, it became apparent that NMC's core strengths in the agriculture market lie in serving larger "commercial" customers. For this reason, NMC recognized that forming a Challenger Alliance with AGCO Corporation would provide customers with the best local sales, service and parts support. While this is a change from the traditional way we have served our customers, we feel this integrated distribution approach provides agriculture customers with a structure that will ultimately be more responsive to their needs. This structure will not affect our Ag-Chem or Lexion business."
The Challenger Alliance partnership structure will allow NMC to focus our sales and product support efforts toward commercial customers while at the same time our Alliance partners will concentrate on doing what they do best, serving the growers. As a result, the new partnership will deliver an improved experience to all agriculture customers.
The new Challenger Alliance dealers will be AGCO Corporation dealers that are qualified by NMC and AGCO to sell and support AGCO agriculture products which will now include the Challenger brand in defined areas of Nebraska. NMC will provide support to the Alliance dealers to ensure their success, including service certification, back-up parts supply, technology expertise and training.
