There are a lot of changes being made at various John Deere dealerships in Western Wisconsin. The Chippewa Falls-based Kohel Power and MDMA Equipment, which is headquartered in Durand, have merged and renamed all but one of their nine locations as Tractor Central. The MDMA Ellsworth store, which sells New Holland farm equipment, is still pending a name change.
The companies had been separately owned by Pudge and Jack Kohel and Sig Weiss. They decided to join forces in order to enhance product selection, customer service, and support for John Deere and related products for farm, home and business customers.
Kohel has locations in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Granton and Cameron. MDMA stores operate in Durand, Mondovi, Menomonie, Arcadia and Ellsworth.
Meanwhile, another group of Deere dealers in Western Wisconsin and Eastern Minnesota have announced a major name change. Polfus Implement, with locations in New Richmond and Rosemount, MN; Tri-County Implement in Turtle Lake; GreenImage of Hastings, MN; and Horizon Equipment, with locations in La Crosse, West Salem and Westby had all been under the same owners in recent years. That group has announced they are changing the names of their seven locations to Frontier Ag & Turf.
