Archbold Equipment, a full line Case IH dealer, announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Gibbs Equipment in Bellevue, Ohio. The purchase will bring the total number of Archbold Equipment locations to 7 in the tristate area. The deal will close in January, though a name change will not take effect until later in 2017.
“Gibbs Equipment is an ideal location to add to our company,” Zach Hetterick, Archbold Equipment CEO said. “They have a similar product mix, carry most of the same manufactures, it expands our footprint east into a contiguous area and they are built upon the same principals of product support as Archbold Equipment.”
“This transaction is positive both for our customers and company. Our customers will have access to expanded equipment and parts inventory, but they can still expect the outstanding service the Bellevue location is known for,” Mike Gibbs, Gibbs Equipment co-owner and sales manager said. “Our location can take advantage of the cost savings, resources and training that come from being part of a complex.”
Gordon Gibbs, his father, acquired the Bellevue dealership in 1970 after working at International Harvester dealers in Bowling Green and then Sherwood, Ohio. These locations are now also part of Archbold Equipment.
“We’re excited to bring the talent from the Gibbs organization into our complex,” Hetterick said. “For their customer’s we’ll be bringing new services to the market including our on-farm delivery of bulk oil and DEF along, Precision Planting products and the Case IH Patriot sprayer line.”
Archbold Equipment Co. now has seven agricultural store locations in the Tri-State area: Topeka, Ind; Adrian, Mich.; and 5 Ohio locations in Archbold, Bellevue, Bowling Green, Ottawa, and Sherwood.
Archbold Equipment is a full service agricultural dealer founded in 1965 that offers a range of quality products and services. Case IH, Woods, Bobcat, Grasshopper, Kinze, Kubota, Cub Cadet, Yetter, Kongskilde, Landoll and Unverferth Manufacturing are among the top brands of equipment sold.
