Today we’re spotlighting Trimble’s new see and spray technology. It’s called the Bilberry system — a camera-based system that enables farmers to save up to 90% on herbicide applications by only spraying where the weeds are in the field. And as Trimble’s Cory Buchs tells us, one of the best things about it is it retrofits to existing sprayers.

Case IH made its presence felt at the National Farm Machinery Show last month, introducing its new AFS Furrow Command technology suite, which includes downforce automation. Case IH seeding marketing manager Trent Nowosad says AFS Furrow Command downforce automation will take down-pressure settings on their Precision Disk Air drills to the next level.

The Technology Corner crew is on the road this week, checking in from the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky. We got our first look at several new products, including Trimble’s new advanced path planning technology. Jesse Chisholm, north American sales director for Trimble, says the software-based technology will be a game changer for growers and equipment manufacturers, and represents the company’s vision for the next step toward full autonomy.
