A determined push to expand Poettinger agricultural equipment distribution in the U.S. appears to have paid off with a 46% increase in sales revenues reported for the company’s 2019-20 financial year.
A 23% surge in tillage equipment sales to growers in the U.S. helped Lemken maintain 2019 revenues at the same level as in the prior year. Global sales reached €380 million ($410 million), making the 12 month period ended December 2019 equal to the best year ever for the German manufacturer.
U.S. large Ag retail sales increased 4% in December after a weaker November. Combined U.S. and Canada large ag declined 2%. “Canada declined more severely with large ag sales down 23.3%, the largest year-over-year decline since July,” said Mig Dobre, analyst for RW Baird, in his summary of sales for the month from the Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers.
Titan Machinery, CNH Industrial’s largest retailer of farm and construction equipment, reported overall revenues in its third quarter of fiscal 2020 were flat vs. the same period of the prior year. Total revenue during the period was $361 million compared to $361 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2019.
