Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a division of the $20.7 billion Mahindra Group, recently reported 17% growth year-over-year in overall tractor sales for October.

Total tractor sales (includes domestic sales in India and exports) for the month were at 47,376 units vs. 40,562 units during the same period last year. Sales in India in October 2018 were at 46,312 units vs. 39,516 units during October 2017. Exports for the month stood at 1,064 units, a growth of 2% over the same period last year.

Commenting on the month's performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, president of Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector, said, "In the domestic market demand gained momentum with the onset of the festival season. All our plants operated at full capacity, to help us meet the festive demand."
