SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) — Farmers in the Sibley, Iowa, area used to have to drive at least 30 miles to get parts for their farm implements. But, that time has come and gone.

"I'm very excited about this. I think that the whole community is all about agriculture, and we have to have businesses, so to have it built here is a great idea," Ted Schutte, Sibley, Iowa, said.

The Noteboom family moved into Sibley to open a nearly $2.5 million John Deere dealership in the community. The plans started to come together about a year ago, and construction began late last fall.

Now, farmers will have the parts they need much closer to home.

"It's a huge deal. I know, my dad, if he had to travel a long ways, the farmers when they're busy in the fields, they want their parts and they want them now. So having to be able to come this close is a huge advantage," Morgan Trampel, Noteboom Implement sales associate said.

While the community of Sibley is certainly excited to welcome the Noteboom family to town and to have the new facility, the Notebooms say they're just as happy to be in the community. "We see Northwest Iowa as the real premier leader in agriculture. So for us to get here is a real privilege," Dan Noteboom, Noteboom Implement CEO, said.

The facility has already added 17 jobs to the community and they plan to add at least 10 more.

The good that's come to the community because of the facility is evident, and Noteboom says they've felt the warm Northwest Iowa welcome that they were hoping for. "We're just thrilled to have that support here. we've only been in Iowa really only 8 months, 7 months, 7 and a half. So it's just exciting that we've been able to create those relationships already, and we plan on making a lot more, and making them a lot better yet," Noteboom said.
