Jost, a producer and supplier of safety-critical systems for the commercial vehicle industry, has announced the construction of a second production plant near the southern Indian city of Chennai. The second plant in India is set up to produce front loaders and associated implements and backhoes for its agricultural brand Quicke at Greenbase Industrial and Logistics Park belonging to the Hiranandani group.

On Nov. 23 JOST officially opened the new plant. The first facility in Jamshedpur was set up in the year 2008 for producing fifth wheels, axles, suspensions and other products related to the business line transport which has been running and growing successfully.

With a construction period of less than 12 months, the established plant is strategically located close to the port and in the heart of the most industrialized Oragadam area of Chennai. The new facility has 15,089 m² (162,416 square feet) of production area and 1,777 m² (19,127 square feet) office area.
