is pleased to announce that the company is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The heavy equipment dealer has been serving agricultural and construction customers throughout New York State since 1951, when Henry M. Hansen opened the first location in Henrietta. There are now 11 locations in New York.
“A lot has changed over the past 60 years, but our business values are very much the same,” says Janet Felosky, president of Monroe Tractor, and Henry Hansen’s daughter. “We are still a family business, and every location follows my dad’s original vision for the company. We often repeat his favorite phrases: ‘Where courtesy dwells and service excels’ and ‘Don’t worry about downtime — uptime all the time.’”
Hansen still serves as chairman of the board and CEO. His daughters run the day-to-day operations of the business; Felosky is president and Sandy Alvarez is corporate secretary. Janet’s son, Chris, oversees their product support representatives.

The successful heavy equipment dealership has grown from a 30x40 ft. block structure on a 2-acre, parcel located at the corner of routes 15 and 253 in Henrietta, into a statewide operation with eleven locations. The dealership spans from Adams Center at the north to Elmira at the south, Albany in the east and Buffalo in the west. Four locations specialize in construction equipment, five in agricultural equipment, and two offer both types of equipment.
Besides an extensive line-up of new equipment for both agricultural and construction uses, Monroe Tractor offers same day parts delivery, shop service, and on-site service for routine maintenance and emergencies. Rental equipment is available, and they always have a wide variety of used equipment on-hand.
