The Memphis, Tenn.-based operations of Krone, one of Europe’s leading hay equipment manufacturers, made a significant contribution to the company’s global sales growth in the 2014-15 financial year ended July 31, in the face of weakening markets.
Hay and forage equipment maker Krone has completed the latest phase of its production plant revamp with the opening of new workshops and offices for technical staff at its headquarters in Germany, while moving its North American training and support center for western states to larger premises.
With the majors adding to their product lines and pressuring their dealers to remain “pure” in the equipment they carry, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult for shortliners to find the right dealers in the right markets, Rusty Fowler, the retiring president and CEO of Krone North America, told Ag Equipment Intelligence.
Record sales of ag machinery were posted by Krone in a year that saw the company open improved shipping facilities at its headquarters plant, as well as its own dealerships in the U.S. for the first time.
