Deere & Co. reported consolidated net sales and revenues of $8.9 billion during its third quarter ended Aug. 2, 2020 vs. $10 billion in the same period a year earlier, a decline of 11%. Equipment operations came in at $7.9 billion during the period compared to nearly $9 billion last year, also a drop off of 12%.

Deere & Co. reported that its worldwide net sales and revenues decreased 4% in the first quarter of 2020, ended Feb. 2, to $7.63 billion. Net sales of the company’s equipment operations were $6.53 billion for the quarter, compared with $6.94 billion in 2019; a decline of 6%. At the same time, Deere’s net income for the quarter was up 4% to $517 million vs. $498 for the same period in 2019.
Deere & Co.’s stated goal is to set itself apart from its competitors while stimulating significant growth. Specifically, it’s aiming to improve its current 12.5% operating margin to 15% by its fiscal year 2022.
According to a Jan. 23, 2020 report in the Zimbabwe publication, The Herald, John Deere is expected to begin shipping the first part of a $50 million order for farm machinery within in the next 3 months.
