The Equipment Dealers Assn. has released the results of its annual Dealer-Manufacturer Relations survey. The association gives out Dealer’s Choice awards in 4 categories: Full-line manufacturer, tractor manufacturer, shortline manufacturer and outdoor power equipment manufacturer.

Significantly larger pork sales to China boosted U.S. pork exports during first quarter 2020 to a record high volume of over 2 million pounds. Sales to China (including Hong Kong) were a record 597,000 pounds, up nearly fivefold, and more than 50% above earlier quarterly highs in 2008 and 2011.

Farmer Sentiment Rises Modestly in May

Farmer sentiment improved slightly in May after falling sharply in both March and April. The Purdue University-CME Group Ag Economy Barometer reading in May was 103, up 7 points from the April reading of 96. The barometer’s small improvement left the gauge of farmer sentiment nearly 40% below its February peak of 168.
