North American large ag equipment sales maintained a healthy high-teens growth in June, according to the Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers’ latest report.
The strength of the U.S. economy continues to provide support for the smaller tractor sales but the recent declines in the stock markets will have a sobering effect upon some future purchases.
North American large ag equipment sales are off to a good start for 2018. According to the latest numbers released by the Assn. of Equipment Manufacturers, large ag equipment sales were up 4% year-over-year in January, including low double digit growth in Canada and low single digit growth in the U.S.
Looking back, 2017 will most likely be viewed as the turning point in agricultural equipment sales for this cycle. While there will probably remain some weakness in the larger tractors and combines in 2018, there are definite signs of a bottom developing.
